Biophysics Week is an annual event. It started on 2016 to celebrate and raise awareness of the field.

Our new LS² Biophysics Section  participates at the Biophysics Week 2020 of the Biophysical Society as Affiliate Event organizer. During that week, different activities will take part at EPFL .

Prof. Claus Siedel (single-molecule FRET pioneer) from Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf will visit the Institute of Bioengineering in Laussane.

Prelimiray program:

• Monday, March 23th:
  • Lecture from Prof. Claus Siedel for students enrolled in Master in Life science Engineerings. Prof. Claus Siedel will introduce single-molecule tools in Biophysics (room INM10).
  • 12:00 h. The lecture will be followed by an informal lunch for 15 participants where at EPFL Espace Copernic Restaurant (please register here).
• Tuesday, March 24th:
  •         12:00 - 14:00 h: Working lunch with Prof. Claus Siedel. 15 flash presentations (5 minutes) from PhD students. Room SV 3510 (please register here)
  •         14:00 - 15.00 h: Research talk. Room SV 1717.
•          Friday, March 27th: To end the Biophysics Week 2020, the board of the LS² Biophysics Section will have a meet up on , with faculty members and postdocs to discuss relevant scientific results in the field.
