The meeting topic is Ion Channels and Transporters in Immunity, Inflammation and Antitumor Immunity.
It will provide a unique opportunity to discuss research on the regulation, function and physiological roles of ion channels in innate and adaptive immunity. It follows a very successful inaugural symposium held at New York University in December 2018 (http://www.2018ici.com/) that brought together scientists mostly form the US.
The symposium will be the first event fully dedicated to the topic of ion channels in the immune system. It will provide a unique opportunity for immunologists and ion channel physiologists to discuss latest advances in the regulation, function and physiological roles of ion channels in innate and adaptive immunity.
A website with more information about the SGP 2020 meeting is available here: https://sgp2020.com.
Session topics of the 2020 SGP meeting will include:
Ion channelopathies and immunodeficiency
Ion channels in innate immunity
Regulation of immunometabolism by transporters
Ca2+ channels and adaptive immunity
Macrophage and neutrophil function
Cancer and antitumor immunity
T cell function
Inflammation & neuroinflammation
Ion channels as drug targets in immune disease
Late-breaking topics
It will follow up the online symposium next year with the 74th Annual meeting of the SGP in Woods Hole, MA. SGP 2021, which will be held from 8-12th September 2021, is an international conference, which will bring together scientists from academia and industry who are investigating how ion channels regulate immune function.
